Rose Blakelock: Aquarius Sun, Virgo Moon, Pisces Rising
Vh: Describe yourself in a sentence.
RB: Very good at lots of things that aren't necessarily profitable!
Vh: Why Astrology?
RB: I used to think I lacked focus, direction, and discipline bc I would try a thing and it would be easy and fun and then I'd reach a plateau and lose interest. But astrology has held my interest steadily for two decades now. I really got serious about it during my Saturn Return, in a pretty dark period of my life. I appreciate the rich history as well as the flexible framework it provides. There's something really soothing to me about the study of cycles, and I love the way the symbolic language offers us tools to imagine new possibilities working from the same base materials that construct our current reality.
Vh: 2024 in five to seven words.
RB: Yes but not how you thought.
Vh: Biggest fear?
RB: That every sci fi horror film was right.
Vh: Biggest source of pleasure?
RB: Right now? Getting stoned and playing guitar.
Vh: What's exciting you?
RB: More and more young people understanding that global solidarity among poor and working people is the path forward.
Vh: Future forecast?
RB: It'll probably get worse before it gets better--groups of people that can learn to organize themselves and share resources are our best bet.
